The Perrysburg Township zoning commission approved a major modification for the French Quarter Square at a March 8 meeting.

Michael Lentz, project manager of Mannik and Smith Group, provided an update on the status and issues the commission had asked to be addressed.

French Quarter Square is being developed at the former Holiday Inn French Quarter site, 10630 Fremont Pike.

Mr. Lentz received approval to alter front setback for the multi-tenant commercial development. The setback along Fremont Pike will be farther back due to a changed use and shape of the buildings, he explained.

Total parking spaces are 424 with 25 handicap spaces. Adjustments also were made for drive-up establishments with two pick up only lanes to avoid issues with stacked vehicles, Mr. Lentz noted.

The zoning commission approved the modifications, pending approval of outstanding site plan review documents and a variance by the township board of zoning appeals. The BZA will hear the requests at a Tuesday, March 16 meeting.

In other zoning commission business, the board elected 2021 officers. Rob Black will continue to serve as chair; Jeff Schaller, vice chair, and Brett Calvert, secretary.

February BZA Meeting

At the February 16 BZA meeting, the board approved a conditional use request submitted by Jeremy and Erica Dennis, 10678 Neiderhouse Road.

The couple plan to construct a pond on their five acre parcel which is zoned A-1 agricultural.

During the meeting, the board also elected officers for 2021. Russell Miller will serve as chairman again this year with Linda Wilker as vice chair and Bob Warnimont, secretary.
